eWheel AGV
The eWheel impresses with its compact design, which creates valuable space in the vehicle. This leaves more room for the batteries and the control system, while at the same time offering more freedom in vehicle design.
Thanks to its modular design, the eWheel can be flexibly configured from the standard to meet the individual requirements of various applications. An especially wide variety of encoders allows precise adaptation to specific control concepts and operating conditions.
What’s more, the well-thought-out design makes it possible to change wheels quickly. This significantly reduces downtime and ensures that vehicles are available for use as much as possible during operations.

What is the eWheel?
The eWheel is a highly integrated drive system consisting of
BLDC motor, encoder system, integrated brake and gear wheel and is
optimally adapted for use in AGVs (automated guided vehicles) and AGVs (automated guided vehicles).
Compactness as a key requirement
Compactness is a key requirement in the rapidly growing AGV market. The entire drive system, including electronics and batteries, must fit into the smallest possible installation space in the vehicle.
In addition to the drive, there is also everything that is required for assembly, navigation and load handling. To meet these requirements, the eWheel was designed to be as space-saving as possible and is still the most compact solution on the market.
Modularity for customised solutions
The modular design enables a simple and precisely tailored solution for your application. This results from the different motor outputs, the selectable gear ratios and the different wheel diameters. This results in over 70,000 variants, from which the right solution for you can be determined quickly and precisely.
Energy efficiency for maximum runtime
To ensure the longest possible service life of the AGV, we use energy-saving 24 or 48-volt BLDC motors and combine them with an efficient planetary gearbox. In addition, the brake voltage can be lowered to further optimize efficiency.
Easy integration and flexible control
Various cable lengths are available for quick and easy installation in the AGV. If you use our dual-axis controller, you will receive the eWheel pre-assembled with the appropriate plugs.
Our drive system can of course also be operated with any other controller.
Fast wheel change for maximum availability
With our system, wheels can be changed in the shortest possible time. This saves you time during a service or maintenance job and thus increases the availability of the vehicle. All you have to do is loosen the bolts on the outside and the wheel can be removed.
Since all of our wheel units have the same interface, the wheel diameter or the gear ratio can be easily adjusted.
Product options
Our eWheel offers you complete flexibility. In addition to the gearbox and motor, the following options can be varied.
Wheel covering
Our standard wheel covering is made of Vulkollan® with a hardness of 92° Shore A. However, wheel coverings made of Vulkollan® 70° Shore A or other crowns are also conceivable and possible. Vulkollan® is a polyurethane traded by the company Covestro AG. Other materials and Shore hardnesses proven in intralogistics are also possible.
Drive controller
Our double-axis controller has STO (Safe Torque Off) in accordance with PL e and can therefore be a component of your functional safety concept for your AGV. The controller is voltage-resistant up to 60V with a peak current of 60A. Our standard interface for the double-axis controller is CANopen. You therefore need one dual-axis controller for two eWheels per AGV.
Assembly flange
With our eWheel, we offer you the option of either mounting it yourself from the outside or from the inside of the vehicle.
This type of mounting is always provided and is part of our standard program.
You choose the mounting direction, whether you want to screw the eWheel on from the outside or the inside. On this basis, we then select the appropriate mounting flange during production.
In addition to our eWheel, we can also offer you a standardized mounting bracket to attach our eWheel conveniently under your vehicle chassis. This allows you to simply screw the AGV/AGV above our eWheel.
